 My Favorite Children's Book

This book was given to me as a baby shower gift, from a very dear friend. This book is special to me because it was the first book that I read to my first born child. "God Gave Us You" is a very sweet story of a Momma Polar Bear telling her baby cub about her pregnancy experience and how special the cub was to their family. The curious cub in the story would frequently as "Why" and the Momma bear's response would be because "God Gave Us You". My daughter is now 2 years old and this book is now one of her favorite bedtime stories.

  1. I like this book because it is a great book for children who are dealing with a new sibling. Kids have so many questions and this book lets the mom bear give a simple response to the cub by saying "god gave us". This book could be read to students as well and they would it. I read this my class around "Family Week", and I could just tell that the students were amazed and interested. Your daughter is 2 and my daughter is 2 !! We are in terrible two's!!!!

  2. Hello,
This is Kelysha from your EDUC 6005-6 class. I apologize for my many submissions, I am still trying to figure this blogging thing out.I've never heard of this book and I thank you for sharing it. I'm going to see if local library has a copy of it because it seems like a book I want to add to my repertoire of children's books! It seems like a nice explanation for children who are being raised in a Christian household. I really like that you incorporate this book into your class as well. What type of facility do you work at?

    1. Hi Kelysha

I understand your struggle, this is my first time blogging and I stumbled across some difficulties as well. But I am pretty sure as the course continues we will grasp the concept and become pros. There is actually someone reading the story on Youtube it not the best quality, but it will save you the trip. I will provided you with the link. And it is a great children's book for Christian households. The center that I work in is not Christian base, so unfortunately, I can not share this book with my students. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6_S7liuUsU

  3. Hi Kiara,

This book is on my daughter's bookshelf! I read it to her often when she was a toddler. I love books that are about how much they are loved and cherished. Another good one is On The Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillerman.

    Best wishes,
    Carmen
