Codes of Ethics

NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct

I-1.1—To be familiar with the knowledge base of early childhood care and education and to stay informed through continuing education and training.
This ethic code is important to me because in order to grow and be success in a profession, one must know about the field. As a professional, knowing about the field allow you to be able to share the importance of the overall field. Also with continuing education and training, it allows one to be current of any changes within the field.

I-1.9—To advocate for and ensure that all children, including those with special needs, have access to the support services needed to be successful.
This ethic code is important to me and significant to my professional life because it ensures the ALL student have access to the support they need to be successful. As professionals, in the ECE field this is our main concern.  We must make sure that we aim for their success always.

I-2.4—To listen to families, acknowledge and build upon their strengths and competencies, and learn from families as we support them in their task of nurturing children.

This ethic code is important to me because as it is always good to be a listening ear. As a professional, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the families, so that we can better meet their needs.

  1. It seems like we have a lot of the same ideas and passion for children. I do believe that as educators we have to be a true advocate at all times for the child and the family. Like the saying goes it takes a village to raise a child and we have a very important role in that village of success.

  2. Thank you for showing us your passion for E.C.E. through your blog while in course 6005, I believe your blog was one of the first that I actually commented on and related to. Continue to use your blog to express your love for this field and to spread knowledge on child developments.
